Rees Rees & Fuller, LLP practice in this area can be divided into two parts. The first part, also known as estate planning, involves assisting clients in planning their estates and managing their affairs during their lifetimes. Many clients derive a great deal of peace of mind from knowing that they will be well looked after in their twilight years and that their cherished property will pass in an orderly fashion after their deaths. This is done through the drafting of wills, trusts, special needs trusts, powers of attorney, guardianship arrangements, conservatorships, and other legal instruments.
The second part of the practice, which occurs after death, involves probate and estate administration. After a person is deceased, the Probate Courts test his or her will for validity and supervise the payment of debts and taxes as well as the orderly distribution of assets to designated beneficiaries or legal heirs.
